Incorporating Pets Into Your Session
We love seeing you with your fur babies and would love to have them in your session. After all, they are a part of your family and they should be in photos with you!
Here are a few ideas and items to bring to help your session go smoothly with your pet.
1. Bring a Leash
Many parks prefer dogs to be on leashes and we prefer to abide by their rules, so bringing a leash with to keep your dog or cat close during our walks is a great idea. Plus, having your pets on a leash will keep them close to you when needed. No need to chase your dog as he or she scrambles after a ground squirrel. He or she will be with you all the time!
2. Bring a Friend
Having a friend or family member who is not being photographed with you to take care of your dog or cat during our session is also a great idea. If you would like a few photos without your fur baby, then your friend or family member can easily watch your dog or cat while we do that. Your friend or family member can also be the one helping to keep your dog or cat's attention next to our photographer so that your pet's face will be seen perfectly. We also like to try and capture your dog catching a treat in mid air, so having someone next to us throwing the treat to your fur baby helps immensely!
3. Bring Treats
Treats are perfect. Your furry friend will love them, and we love using them. Bribing your fur baby with a treat can work wonders and catching their expressions as they attempt to catch a treat and eat it is priceless. We have a few images of dogs attempting to catch treats being thrown to them and the owners love the expressions they see. These expressions are often not seen unless captured on camera, so photographing them shows the pet's personality even more.
4. Bring a Toy
Having your pet's favorite toy at your session is a great way to capture your pet's personality! A toy is a great tool, provided it is noisy, to help your dog focus on the photographer in order to get a great portrait. Having your pet play with the toy enables us to capture real life moments of your dog or cat playing that you might not see otherwise. Plus, they will have fun!
