When you are at a stunning forest preserve that has a lot of space to run, what do you do? Run!
And, who says portraits always have to be still? Capturing the action of a child tells their story, too. Which is what we did with Cameron, Colleen, and Claire.
Taking breaks, a few "posed" shots, and many action ones were in the mix. Every portrait session tells the story of the subjects, and I think we captured their story pretty well.
Images taken at the beautiful St. James Forest Preserve in Warrenville.
Every time I got close to Claire, she would run. I am not sure if it was a fear of the camera, or me, but regardless, I did a lot of things to try to capture some images. Doug was kind enough to stand in front of me so I could "peek" around to take a few shots. I stood behind brick walls, and even a tree.
With any session, if a child is fearful, I will do my best to capture images without being disruptive or causing the situation to be worse. The best bet is to usually follow them around and capture them in their moments.
