PAULINE AND LEONARD
It is not very often that two people make it to a 50th wedding anniversary. So, to make it to 60 years is a pretty spectacular thing.
What an honor it was for me to photograph Pauline and Leonard for their 60th wedding anniversary at their home. Part of the celebration was hosting a party with family and friends, but when the photographer did not show up, they were devastated. Similar to photographing a wedding, it is an event that cannot be held again with the same people. It is once in a lifetime.
When Pauline contacted me and told me her story, I was devastated for her and Leonard, and a little bit miffed at the photographer who apparently had other things to do. Not a very good representation of photographers in the industry. Since Leonard needed to be at home, I went to them and used their familiar surroundings to proclaim their love and beauty of 60 years together.
Even though they do not have documentation of their party, they do have documentation of each other. And, I was so honored to do this for them.
