A Beautiful Journey
Songs of Life Photography Studio has come a long way since 2009. We have photographed over 2000 families, seniors, and children. We have given away many free sessions, worked with two chambers, many local organizations, and businesses to be sure people in the community have access to telling their story and showcasing their loved ones via photography.
And, the studio itself has always been a work in progress.
Personally, it has been quite an up and down journey filled with a lot of hard work, investment of time and money, and failures.
I never got to see my original plan come to fruition-an Arts and Educational Center for children, one that would house a photography studio, gallery for children's art work, and an educational center for teaching and learning more about all the different art mediums.
But, I did get to see many many children, high school seniors, business executives and families during our portrait sessions. I got to see the joy on your faces when you viewed your imagery for the first time and cried when your children's beautiful faces were shown. And, most importantly, I got to see you continue to keep your legacy alive by printing your digital negatives into beautiful works of art.
Why am I talking about this?
Because after several years of digging deep into priorities and next steps for my husband and myself, I have decided to close Songs of Life photography Studio. My husband and I are actually a few years away from retirement, have always loved the mountains (we lived on the side of a mountain in Colorado in the 80's) and realized that we have worked really really hard for many years. (we are both self employed)
Whereas we will never be able to "officially" retire as our social security is dismal and we will always have to work in some capacity, we decided to return to an area we love.
Our four grown children are scattered all over the US and one of them is in Montana, so that is where we are headed. (after we sell our house!)
Words cannot express my gratitude to each and everyone of you for teaching me about life, giving me the great joy of being able to capture memories for you, and for inviting me into your lives.
Songs of Life will continue in Montana, but as of now, I am going silent. My website will still be active as I do have a few more sessions on the books, so feel free to visit the Rose Room to see some updated imagery, and the blog to see posts about this new journey.
