On the Go
What do you get when you have three wonderful children full of energy that just want to run? You get a fast paced session and move a lot! The setting was the colorful and majestic Hoover Forest Preserve in Yorkville, IL, and the day was warm and beautiful. Perfect for a short portrait session to capture the liveliness of three children.
I first met them when the youngest was just a newborn! Their aunt, Ashley, is very much involved in their lives and makes sure memories are being photographed for the children and the parents. Our first session was held in the studio and produced beautiful imagery of all three.
At our next session at Hoover last fall, having three other adults along helped immensely with the logistics of the session. We all had a great time playing in the leaves, running around, and making sure we got a few great images for their memories.
We did manage to get a few sitting down.
When you are photographing three small children, you do your best to capture their authentic selves. If they want to run, you run with them-although, my running days are gone. At Songs of Life, we do our best to capture children in their element-moving, having fun, and just being kids. We also do our best to capture imagery of a more "formal" nature-the expressions full of life, sitting in the grass or a chair. Those types of images have their place in a gallery as well!
