Joy and Laughter
I think joy and laughter go together. Usually, if you are full of joy, laughter is a byproduct and is expressed in the moment and when families get together, or when kids just are kids, both are often seen. I truly enjoy just being in the moment with clients and capturing the real life moments from the photography sessions we have together.
When starting this blog post, I realized that most of the imagery that is in my folders looks like Joy and Laughter! We always have so much fun at our sessions and I encourage people to just be themselves and have fun. So beginning with photos taken back in 2016, we bring you the Best of...Joy and Laughter.
This young man and his grandparents had a ton of fun at our photo session. I have quite the history with him as he was in my care when I ran my daycare. I got to see him grow up and enjoy him and his family's company for many years.
In this particular moment, grandma and grandpa were trying to give him a kiss on the cheek. He was goofing around a bit but eventually, they were able to land kisses and hugs on either side and they squished him like a sandwich! Laughter and Joy exploded afterwards and I am sure grandma and grandpa will treasure this moment forever.
Another great kissing, laughing moment with one of my favorite families. Mom really wanted a photo of her daughter kissing her on the cheek, and her daughter so willingly obliged. Afterwards, mom starting tickling her and the eruption of joy and laughter followed.
The tickling continued until both were on the floor rolling around and having a great mom and daughter bonding time!
You never know how children will respond to certain questions and ideas. During this photo session, this young girl saw the fan that I had in the studio. She wanted to see what would happen if we used it, so of course I said YES!
At first, she was a little apprehensive but eventually got in the moment starting twirling, showcasing all kinds of expressions and just having fun. The first image was taken at the very beginning when she was just a little tentative, but as time went on, she got in the moment and had a ton of fun!
This guy never ceases to amaze me. So full of life, so joyful and so much fun to be with. Since he loved dinosaurs, we incorporated them into the session and at this point, I just stood back and watched him do his thing.
Silly expressions, joy and laughter, and using the blanket as a hat all came into play. He had fun and so did I!
Did you know that smiling and laughing are good for the soul? Everyone chosen for this Best of...was chosen because they put a smile on my face and brought me joy. I hope that you will also see the joy and laughter and walk away with a great big smile on your face!
