We are always on the lookout for new locations to hold portrait sessions. Most families like sessions outdoors in the woods and there are plenty of preserves in our area. We discovered Knoch Knolls Park in Naperville, IL recently and fell in love with the variety of areas. Granted, we have to walk A LOT to get to the different spaces, but it can be worth it.
This session with the Bannons was held there and we only had about an hour to get everything finished before a storm hit. I have known this family for almost seven years and are so thankful they come back to us year after year to update their images. They value having printed, tangible, art in their home, that happens to be their family.
This time around we photographed Kevin's side of the family and stayed in just one area about 1/4 mile from the parking lot due to the approaching storm. We got the images they wanted, and thankfully, everyone made it back to their car before the storm hit-except Darcy and I. Which is ok-our equipment was fine, and we got a nice shower!
Do you want to build your legacy with photography? Having a multi generational session is a great way to do that. With a variety of poses, and subsets of each family and everyone together, you will walk away with many images to love in your home now and eventually pass down to future generations.
