What do you get when you attempt to drive down a steep incline that is icy and snow packed? You get stuck in the ditch!
My trip to see the McSwains started with a wrong turn down a steep road in a beautiful setting. Doing my best to keep my front wheel drive car on the road was pointless. No sooner had I turned onto the snow covered, icy road did I find myself in the ditch.
With a wheel in the air and tires deep in snow, I tried my best to get out, but to no avail. The herd of cattle that saw my predicament soon all gathered by the fence just five feet away mooing and staring! Apparently, they thought I was there to feed them!
A phone call to Amanda McSwain was the next step and she was gracious enough to tell her husband, who soon came to my rescue! Two more people stopped to help and I was fortunate enough to get out of the ditch!
Even though it took another failed attempt at getting back onto the correct road and having to leave my car at the bottom of the hill, I made it to the McSwains and was very thankful for their help!
Everyone was so patient and kind! Even though the session started late, we were able to capture beautiful images of everyone around their home and land.
Their home sits outside of Bozeman in a beautiful area surrounded by mountains and open spaces. Their two horses joined in for a few images along with their family dog for a full family photo!
Along with more guided family and individual photos are the ones that are random and fun. And, we were able to capture a few of those as well!
Every Family Storytelling Session includes family and individual photos. That way, family legacy walls can be created and each child will know just how important they are within the family.
When was the last time mom and dad had their portrait taken? The answer we get most often is ,"At our wedding!". We say, let's take a couple's portrait, too. That way, mom and dad have an updated portrait of themselves to treasure and cherish.
The snow on the ground and the snow in the air provided a beautiful backdrop and scene for the McSwains.
And, what do you do with all that snow? You have a snowball fight, of course!
